Project proposal:
section 1 - Rationale 
when I first joined the course I lacked understanding about my talents. I was also mainly an actresses rather than a dancer or singer. I struggled a lot with my confidence while performing to an audience and I also struggled with my coordination skills. over the past 7 units I have built on all my sills and gained knowledge in all areas, I've started to understand my voice and body. I've also learnt that  i'm flexible in my back. I've also started to learn control over my voice while singing. The past 7 units have showed me i have potential to be more than an actress.

Section 2 - Project concept
For this project i am going to be collaborating with the girls from my class which are Bethany Doherty, Ella Botton, Alexandra Green, Tilia lawson, Rina Yefet, Nehemie Babadi and Leah Bradshaw. Our aim is to put on a full musical, we are producing The Rocky Hora Show. To create the performance we need access to out of lesson studio time and computers for research and to watch videos. For this projected i wanted to taken on a more acting and singing role, i was given the roles of Eddie who is a rock an role singer who gets killed off and Dr Everet Scott who is Eddie uncle and Brad and Janet close friend, he is also very well known in Franks house as a undercover agent for the government. I also wanted to help with the costume and make up backstage, everyone was set different backstage roles that they could help out with. to Have a full understanding of the musical we are going to do research on the musical and the characters we are each playing. We are also going to do background research on the themes of the play such as LGBT. In this project  hope to perform well and with confidence. 

Section 3 - Evaluation 
I am going to have a blog where i am going to self evaluate every week by posting videos from rehearsals and reflecting and setting targets for my self. As a class we are going to have regular meetings where we talk about what we can improve. Also after the finished piece i am going to write up a evaluation on myself.

The Rocky Horror Show...

'The Rocky Horror Show' is a musical hora comedy, that was made in 1975 and was written by Richard O'Brian and produced by Jim Sharman. The musical begins with a traditional American couple Brad and Janet. The couple have just gotten engaged, their car has also just broken down causing them to seek help at a near by castle for a telephone.

The castle happens to be the home of some odd characters, Riff Raff, Magenta, Columbia and Frank N Furter. As the musical goes on more characters within the castle are revealed such as, Eddie, Dr Scott and Rocky. Other than Dr Scott all these characters are quiet weird and sexual. As the musical goes on Brad and Janet let loose when the plot thickens they both take part in cheating one another with Frank at different points.

By the end of the musical Frank, Riff Raff and Magenta turn out to be aliens.     

Rocky horra show originally started off as a parody scene around a song at the beginning. Rocky horror show turned out to be so popular that O'Brian decided to make it a full musical. It was first performed in the royal court upstairs that only had 60 seats. It went on to run for 7 years. It then went on to move to the classic cinema in Chelsea and then went onto the king's road theatre. the musical was seen by Lou Adler who ended up taking it to LA, where it played in the Roxy theatre which was a cabaret type venue, run by 'rock en rollers.' Tim Curry who played Frank'n'Furter in the London show also travelled to LA with the musical to continue playing Frank.

In 1975, the 'Rocky Horror Show' was made in to a film that was directed by Jim Sharman. In the film Tim Curry also stared as Frank in the film. I was able to learn more about Tim by watching an interview were he spoke about his experience as Frank on both stage and in the film. In the interview he spoke about the importance of knowing your audience and how that it's easier to know your audience  on stage because you can see them were as its harder to act to a camera. Also I learnt that he got his accent from a women on the bus. He then went on to talk about how physically exhausting his on stage show experience was and how often he had to go into the theatre a lot earlier so he could prepare himself. When speaking about his film experience he spoke about how the make up always had look exactly the same and would often take up to 2 hours to apply it.

My characters:

EDDIE:

Eddie from 'Rocky Horror show' is Dr scott's nephew. He is killed by Frank after his song 'Hot patootie.' His character is rock n roll, him and Frank had a mental relationship. Frank split his brain in to 2 and gave Rocky one half and gave Eddie one half.

Originally Eddie is played by Meat loaf. Meat loaf was the only person who could sing Hot patootie word for word and all on the right beats at the time. 

   

Dr scott:

Dr Scott is the only character that knows Frank Magenta and Riff Raff secret of not being 'humans.' His character was a ex tutor to Janet and Brad but now is there friend. Also he is Eddie uncle. 

his character is the only one who isn't sexualise and he has a weird love hate relationship with Frank. Along side Brad and Janet he is one of the only survivors at the end of the musical.

Project action plan and timetable:

Week 1:

• learn about all the characters
• watch the live 2015 stage show
• Begin reading through the script

Week 2: 

• Begin reading through the script in character
• start researching Eddie and Dr Scott
• start learning Hot patootie 

Week 3:

• Have all my lines learned
• start learning Eddie teddy
• Meet Adam from the tech team
• Do further research on my characters 

Week 4:

• Start finishing the choreography for all the group songs
• complete choreography for Sword of Damocles
• clean up my lines
• Finish learning Hot Patootie

Week 5:

• Start thinking about costume and props
• meet with Adam to discuss further the tech side of the musical
• Finish Eddie's teddy

Week 6:

• Refine songs
• refine dances
• have done a whole run through start to finish

Week 7:

• tech run
• dress run
• finalising everything
